New Aaarea GmbH is planning hybrid events for Frankfurt Fashion Week in January
For the next edition of Frankfurt Fashion Week, scheduled 17-21 January 2022, the newly created Aaarea GmbH will organize hybrid events to make the Frankfurt city and region even more appealing. Aaarea gathers eleven multidisciplinary agencies from Frankfurt under its roof to join forces. The idea behind this merger came from the initiators of Frankfurt Fashion Week (FFW).
“The founding of Aaarea is sending out an important signal to Frankfurt’s creative industry. As the initiators of FFW, we have set out to completely reinterpret the existing Fashion Week system. From Frankfurt, we want to inspire the rest of the world to contribute to the future transformation of the fashion and textiles sector. The fact that 11 internationally renowned agencies are pooling their expertise to integrate public spaces into specific events is extremely unique and will help set the new Frankfurt Fashion Week apart from other industry events,” says Detlef Braun, member of the executive board of Messe Frankfurt.
Based in Frankfurt, but with an international network, the agencies on board all come from the fields of events, marketing and communication. The managing partners are Lorenzo Bizzi from Nordisk Buero, Claus Fischer from Voss + Fischer and Florian Joeckel from Pantera Rosa. And the co-partners are James Ardinast from Ima Clique, Amin Baghi from Esistfreitag, Steffen Ball from Ballcom Digital Public Relations, Madjid Djamegari from Lucille, Jesper Götsch from Jazzunique, Eklil Qani from Nonot Studios, Frank Lottermann from Nordisk Buero, Felix Neuland from Neulandherzer and Stefan Weil from Atelier Markgraph.
The events for the January edition of FFW will circle around fashion, art, talks, music, performances, installations and gastronomy. All aspects of fashion shall be covered, for example in the form of exhibition spaces for young designers, art installations, photography and visualizations.
“In all areas of Frankfurt, we will hold interdisciplinary events to encourage interaction and exchange between the stakeholders of Fashion Week, the city and its inhabitants. We are shining a spotlight on Frankfurt’s diversity and making Frankfurt Fashion Week accessible to everyone,” says Florian Joeckel, CEO of Pantera Rosa.

The next ‘regular’ Texworld is scheduled for February 2022
Messe Frankfurt France, the organizer of Texworld Evolution Paris, has decided to schedule its next major event for February 2022. The trade fair is expected to be held in its usual format at the Parc des Expositions du Bourget in Paris.
Texworld Evolution Paris – Le Showroom
“Despite recent government announcements that regulations have been relaxed in France, several countries, particularly India, Taiwan and Turkey, remain heavily impacted by the crisis. The global health situation and the travel restrictions make it uncertain whether important international exhibitors and visitors will be able to attend Texworld Evolution Paris,” it says in an official statement.
In the meantime, Messe Frankfurt France organized the installation of Texworld Evolution Paris – Le Showroom, which was held from 5-9 July. The second edition of this intermediate event hosted the collections of 150 international companies in two exhibition venues (the Atelier Richelieu and the 5 rue du Mail).
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin with new date
For the first time, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (MBFW) did not take place in July, parallel to Paris Haute Couture Week. Instead, the organizer, creative agency Nowadays, together with partner Mercedes-Benz, announced September 6-9 as the new date.
MBFW Berlin location at Kraftwerk
In this way, the event, which will take place at Berlin’s Kraftwerk, aims to fit more effectively into the international show calendar. The decision has been made jointly with Berlin’s Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Industry, which is also a partner of MBFW this season.
The format is to include live fashion shows in which the public can also participate digitally on mbfw.berlin, Youtube and other social media channels. The supporting program is to be designed as an eclectic mix of relevant topics related to fashion and creativity: Different formats such as shows, installations, presentations and talks will focus on the relevance of Germany and Berlin as creative locations – and on the networking of the international fashion community. With the participation of the Fashion Open Studio and the Berlin Salon, MBFW wants to make a statement for formats with a strong focus on innovation, sustainability and promotion of local designers.
