Liberty Fairs to Collaborate with Cabana for Miami event
Liberty Fairs, trade show for contemporary menswear and womenswear, along with Cabana, a trade destination for resort and travel lifestyle brands, are announcing plans to launch their first joint physical trade show – for both, the first show since the pandemic shut down in-person gatherings last year. The trade events will show side-by-side in Miami at the Miami Beach Convention Center this summer from 10-12 July.
Pre-pandemic, Liberty Fairs hosted events in Las Vegas and New York, making the upcoming show its very first in Miami. Cabana typically ran biannually in New York, as well as each summer in Miami since 2013.
“As a trade destination, Miami is an amazing opportunity for both men’s and women’s brands and retailers alike, with the beaches, nightlife and amenable weather for social distancing outdoors. The Cabana audience is very familiar with the atmosphere of the city and loves coming back each year, so we’re looking forward to introducing that same energy to our men’s audience,” says Janet Wong, Cofounder of Cabana.
According to the organizers, retailers can expect Cabana to present 250-300 brands, and for Liberty to present 150 brands. In tandem with the physical shows, both Liberty and Cabana will also facilitate online trade for brands and retailers who may not yet be able to travel. Both shows have run virtual- only trade shows over the past year.
“We see the new ’business as usual’ as a hybrid model–even as travel opens up, we will need to continue providing options for those who can’t meet in person. LF&LF is here to facilitate that reality,” says Wong.
Edwina Kulego, Vice President of Liberty Fairs, says, “I am excited about this collaboration with Cabana. If Covid has taught us anything, it is the power of togetherness. I believe this collaboration is a step in the right direction, and we are hopeful about the prospects and ideas that will be birthed from this venture.”
The collaborative show will focus heavily on safety for attendees in Miami, with systems in place to increase air quality at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Guests will be asked to wear masks and attend to social distancing requirements, and will participate in a touch-free, crowd-free pre-registration process with self-service badging systems to mitigate the risk of cross-contamination.
Supreme Group announces dates for physical events in summer 2021
Supreme Group, organizer of order platforms such as Supreme in Düsseldorf and Munich, has announced the dates for its physical events to run in July and August 2021 respectively.
Accordingly, Supreme Women&Men Düsseldorf is to take place 23-26 July, while Supreme Women&Men Munich is supposed to run 07-10 August.

The last physical edition of Supreme took place in Düsseldorf at the end of January, while the February event in Munich scheduled in February had to be canceled due to government restrictions. Still, the Supreme Group team is convinced to repeat this for all its order platforms in summer. Nevertheless, all dates are subject to change.
Aline Müller-Schade, Managing Director of The Supreme Group, states: “My entire team and I are doing everything we can to make a personal exchange possible in the next summer season. We hear from manufacturers as well as retailers how important this is to them. The personal and spontaneous interaction is what everyone cares about.”
Performance Days goes digital only
In view of the current Corona situation, the organizers of Munich fabrics trade show Performance Days have announced that the event cannot take place as a physical version on 19-20 May.
“Any planning for the realization of fairs lacks certainty at this moment in time. Furthermore, international travel restrictions make it difficult or even impossible for many manufacturers and trade fair visitors to participate,” it says in an official statement.
Instead, Performance Days is focusing on a digital fair week from 17-21 May. Within the framework of the recently launched digital platform Performance Days Loop in cooperation with Functional Fabric Fair and the Digital Fair plans to highlight sustainable fabric innovations for the s/s 2023 season.
Further tools will supplement the digital edition. For example, the so-called Marketplace will provide visitors with the opportunity to view numerous exhibitors’ products, including the curated, sustainable fabric highlights of the Performance Forum.
“In the current situation, it is essential to guarantee our trade fair visitors and exhibitors a secure, digital offering. With the Performance Days Digital Fair, under the umbrella of the Performance Days Loop online platform, we are even extending the duration of the fair to five days to provide the industry with even more updates on the season’s fabric innovations, along with important additional information and the provision of intensive networking opportunities,” Marco Weichert, founder & general manager of Performance Days, said.
The hybrid option remains the concept for Performance Days’ winter edition 1-2 December 2021.
OutDoor by Ispo postponed to October
OutDoor by Ispo will not take place in July as planned. Instead the outdoor trade show is postponed to 5-7 October. This decision was made by Messe München together with its partners from the European Outdoor Group and after numerous discussions with many company, trade and association representatives, Markus Hefter, Exhibition Group Director OutDoor by Ispo, announced.

“The current development unfortunately looks like the travel and contact restrictions will remain longer than we thought at the beginning of the year. At the same time, our discussions have confirmed that personal exchange is at the heart of OutDoor by Ispo for all of us. Therefore, it was the most sensible step for us to move the Global Summit Edition of OutDoor to fall.”
More info on the concept is to be announced in the coming weeks. In addition to product and collection presentations, there will be a conference program. “At the same time, it goes without saying: this OutDoor by Ispo will be extended into the digital space,” Hefter emphasizes. “Here we are benefiting from all the good experience and knowledge gained through Ispo Munich Online and the Re.Start Days. We are currently working intensively on the overall concept and are of course in close exchange with the industry here in order to cover the needs of all representatives in the best possible way.”
