2 min read

Denim specialist Isko and swimwear brand Arena have recently started the Arena Icons x Isko partnership to enrich Arena’s fall/winter 2020 Icons collection with an outfit made up of a jacket and trousers inspired by vintage designs from the ’80s.

The outfit is made from the Isko Bluejym, a lightweight stretch fabric that is part of the Arquas 6.0 Isko platform of fabrics and aims to ensure superior durability and recovery with the look and feel of knitted solutions. Brand ambassador and testimonial of this partnership is Alessandro Miressi, an Italian swimmer and European champion.

Used in its black and white versions, the patented technology Isko Bluejym is meant to be a solution in keeping with Isko’s mission to pursue a responsibly innovative path in the fashion industry. It has already achieved key third-party certifications such as Step by Oeko-Tex modular certification system and started partnerships including Textile Exchange, ZDHC, SAC, Sedex and Bluesign to lead the change.

As part of this involvement, from 2-6 November, Isko also joined Isko the 2020 Textile Sustainability Conference-“A Decade To Change,” an event aimed at highlighting best practice and sustainability-related emerging trends and opportunities in the fashion industry.

This was the first edition of the Textile Exchange conference to occur online and according to Isko drew more than 1,200 fashion industry professionals from all over the world, offering a vast agenda of sessions and network opportunities to discuss science-based targets, climate change, transparency and co-collaboration.

While taking the pulse of the evolving impact of international circumstances, Isko participated in the event as partner and member of Textile Exchange which it has been since March 2019. The company took the chance to exhibit its R-Two technology, through which it has achieved Textile Exchange certifications across its 25,000 products including Content Claim Standard, Global Recycled Standard, Organic Content Standard and Recycled Claim Standard levels.

Isko also presented its first Sustainability Impact Report, which sets bold targets and provides a detailed overview of the company’s work within the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and ILO standard frameworks, also a central theme of the conference.
