Met, the Italian jeans brand born in 1997, is back in business. It is now owned by a pool of international entrepreneurs and is ready to expand all over Europe thanks to a licensing agreement and a defined industrial plan by Intellectual World Class S.r.l., an apparel specialist from Prato managed by its CEO Jimmy Chen.

Chen recently explained his strategy for this relaunch….
Can you describe some details of this licensing agreement?
It’s a long-term project that Met’s owners highly trust. We are trustworthy and performing licensees who will give great results and importance to this renowned Italian fashion brand.
When did you start producing and distributing Met?
We have already started producing its f/w 2020-21 collection. Products will start being distributed starting from the end of July 2020.
Are you offering both men’s and women’s collections? Can you explain your plans?
We started offering a women’s collection made up of 200 pieces of which 35% is denim but also includes knitwear, outer jackets, dresses and sweatshirts. We are also planning to launch bags and accessories, and surely shortly after also a menswear line. Other new selections will be added soon. Among them there is the Moove activewear line dedicated to leisure time and especially caring for body shaping products and an eco-sustainable line made with organic denim.
Following the block of all activities how are you managing the relaunch of Met?
After the worldwide spreading of Covid, we found solutions that could limit this critical situation’s impact as much as possible by focusing on programmed production and optimizing our distribution network activities. Obviously, we hope that the years 2020 and 2021 will be crucial for the brand’s new course.
Can you explain more about Intellectual World Class?
IWC was born in 2018 with the aim to create a business tied to young and glamour fashion–all aspects that are common to Met. The company, whose production is mostly based in Italy, has already worked for brands including Terranova, Gaudi, Rifle, Bench and Sexywomen and is specialized in denim and fashion products. Surely, Met is the premium brand of IWC’s offer, but it will surely play an inspiring role for other fashion-minded projects.
