1 min read

German sustainable label Armedangels has appointed Manar Samaki to the position of global supply chain director. With 20 years of multinational experience in the fashion industry, Samaki’s role will be to further optimize the efficiency and transparency of Armedangels’ sustainable and fair processes to drive the label’s growth. Samakis succeeds Kerstin Janssen, who has been responsible for the division until 2021.

Samakis career started at Massimo Dutti, one of Inditex Group’s brands, where he worked for over five years as senior retail buyer and head of Asia Pacific sourcing and buying office in Shanghai. He then moved to Grupo Cortefiel (currently Tendam) where he was sourcing and quality director. He then spent another six years at Esprit, where he rose from head of sourcing strategies to vice president head of global buying and head of operations.

“What inspires and fascinates me about Armedangels is the brand’s thoroughly sustainable DNA. Since its inception, Armedangels has been driving a fair and sustainable supply chain, setting unique standards in the industry. Thanks to the valuable work done over the past years, we have transparent and measurable insight into all production steps of our manufacturing partners and, most importantly, good partnerships. My goal is to make our supply chain processes even more efficient to support fairness, robustness and agility,” says Samaki.
