During the same month, Selena Gomez performed in Las Vegas with the word “Justin” written in cursive on her wrist (September 10). Then Jelena walked the red carpet together at the Abduction premiere in Los Angeles (September 15). The two continued to date on and off until confirming an “official” breakup in November 2014. That’s when sparks begin to fly for Bieber and Baldwin.

December 8, 2014: Deny, Deny, Deny
In early December, Baldwin denied dating rumors for the first time in a video interview with E! News. We have just stayed close and there’s nothing more to it than that.”

The next morning (December 27), they’re seen having breakfast at a diner. But Hailey holds her poker face, tweeting “Glad I got such a good night sleep last night, at MY own home, alone. Quit it with the stories!” (Spoiler alert: nobody bought it.)
April 23, 2015: Aw Honey, You Baked
By April 2015, the internet is asking just one question: are they dating yet? It’s unclear at this point, but they enjoyed a rather romantic baking class together in Los Angeles where they were later joined by Kendall Jenner (who is credited to starting JB and HB’s friendship).

February 2016: It’s Casual, OK?
In separate interviews, Bieber and Baldwin both confirmed that they were in a non-exclusive relationship. “We are not an exclusive couple,” Baldwin told E!. “He’s about to go on tour. Relationships at this age are already complicated, but I don’t really like to talk about it because it’s between me and him.” While Bieber reported to GQ that Hailey Baldwin is “someone I really love,” but that he doesn’t “want to be held down by anything.”
August 2016: Onto the Next
Six months after divulging the details of their non-exclusive relationship, Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin appear to be broken up. Bieber is photographed arm-in-arm with Sofia Richie and unfollows Hailey Baldwin on Instagram.
August 2016-April 2018: Another Jelena Break
After their mysterious breakup in August 2016, Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin entered a period of no contact. JB and HB were not friends, they didn’t see each other (even in group settings with the Jenners & Co.), and they didn’t follow each other on social media. During this period of no contact, Justin Bieber was on-again-off-again with Selena Gomez; Jelena ended their most recent relationship attempt in March 2018.
May 27, 2018: Friends Again
After almost two years of not speaking, Hailey Baldwin confirmed in May of this year that she and JB are friends again. “Justin and I were friends for a long time,” she said in an interview with The Times UK. “I met him when I was really young and he was one of my best friends. Everybody knows that at a certain point in time that turned into something else, but that just happens when you’re 18, 19. We went through a long period of time when we weren’t friends. We didn’t speak for quite some time and there was a lot of weirdness that went on. We’ve moved past that.”

September 13, 2018: Just Married?
TMZ reports that the the couple went to New York City’s Marriage Bureau to get, what else, a marriage license. September 18, 2018: Honeymoon in London
October 2018: Growing Pains

He told me that she’s his angel.”
October 23, 2019: “Lose You to Love Me” Drama Hits
After Bieber’s ex Selena Gomez releases her new song, “Lose You to Love Me,” (which directly addresses their split), what Baldwin does next causes waves. Gomez urges her fans to “be kind” on Instagram Live later that day.
By the following day, things appear to be squashed. Baldwin likes an IG of Gomez celebrating her new music. A source tells E! that while Bieber and Baldwin have heard the song, “they are both trying to not give any reaction to her lyrics referencing Justin.” The insider continues, “It isn’t ideal for Hailey, but she understands the creative process of writing music and that Justin had a past. Justin has completely moved on from that chapter of his life and understands that Selena is allowed to reflect on the past in her own way. Justin and Hailey both want Selena to be happy and in a good place and aren’t fazed by it.”
January 13, 2020: No Drama Here
After liking another Instagram of Gomez in November, rumors of drama between Baldwin and her husband’s ex are shut down again. Both Gomez and Baldwin are seen at Craig’s in Los Angeles, where the former was celebrating her album, Rare. A false Twitter rumor casts blame on mutual friend Madison Beer for the near run-in. After Gomez accidentally unfollows Beer, she re-follows her and writes,”This is disgusting reading all of this. This wasn’t intentional whatsoever. I’m so disappointed that people would speak to this. I have known Madison since she was a baby and watched her continue to become the woman she is. There is no issue.”
