Within its recent Open Days for the presentation of its three-year courses, IED-Istituto Europeo di Design has announced and presented its new “Green Your Future Awards,” a call for applications addressed to future students who want to be involved in projects of environmental, social and cultural sustainability.
In addition to its usual scholarships, the Institute is flanking a new project to support the training of those who aspire to become a reference point for the development of culture and sustainable projects within the Institute for becoming a Green Ambassador IED.
The aim of the initiative is to give all potential Italian students in the first year of its three-year courses the opportunity to be involved in the environmental and social sustainability projects that the school will promote during the next academic year 2021-22. The call offers 30 awards to cover part of the tuition fee for the three-year and post-diploma courses at the locations of Milan, Cagliari, Florence, Rome, Turin, Venice and the Aldo Galli Academy in Como. The Green Ambassadors, in relation to the various Green Referents of the seat, will have the task of being carriers and spread the culture of sustainability by raising awareness among their classmates and engaging them in the implementation of concrete projects.

“IED has always wanted to train designers who are ready to change the world they live in through design, beauty and intelligence,” explained Fabrizia Capriati, head of communication, IED Italy. “Today this is translated into the Green Award project, which was created to support new profiles of contemporary designers who want to commit themselves to designing a more human society, based on the principles of ethics, environmental, social and economic sustainability.”
Participants will be required to have a natural inclination towards the themes of sustainability, feel the need to contribute actively to the preservation of the planet, along with carrying a lifestyle consistent with these values.
By September 10, 2021 applicants need to send a creative work and demonstrate they meet the indicated requirements. They also have to add their own personal thoughts on what role a Green Ambassador IED should play within the school. All the details of the competition will be presented during the Open Days.
The online Open Days takes place from July 12 to 16, to present the IED educational offer of the Italian locations through a program of presentations during the week divided between the areas of Fashion, Design, Visual Arts and Communication and Restoration. It will be possible to interact with the IED advisors, ready to accompany the potential student in the choice process and clarify any doubts about the educational paths and the admission and enrollment process.
