Sharabati is involved in achieving this goal by focusing on a project of water treatment and filtration system that will take gray water from different sources in its facilities (like, for instance, from toilets, cooling and air conditioning systems) and turn it into water suitable for the irrigation of its green spaces. The company is also planning for the medium-to-long term period to install a more efficient and centralized water treatment plant for all of its production facilities that will treat water from production processes and recycle from 30% to 40% of the volume to be looped back and reused in production.

Why bamboo T-shirts are cool
As part of the increasing success of athleisure and comfy apparel registered during the days of the lockdown, the US activewear brand Tasc Performance has launched a selection of sustainable T-shirts made with bamboo fiber. Blake Lopez, vice-president of marketing, explains: “I’ve always been passionate about brands that drive impactful social change, especially those that figure out how to offer it at more affordable price points. Most activewear brands rely on plastics and harsh chemical finishes to develop performance driven clothing. Caring about what we wear and how it impacts our environment should be just as important as choosing solar power, buying an electric car or selecting organic food,” says Lopez who believes that sustainable and ethical clothing has to be accessible to everyone.
