Denimsandjeans digital platform is gaining popularity

The organizers of Denimsandjeans had the right feeling when they launched their global digital denim platform last year with the idea that the denim industry will eventually look for digital alternatives to work–which are not only faster, but also more sustainable.

 

The outbreak of the corona pandemic has resulted in greater attention for the digital platform. Currently there are more than 40 global denim supply-chain companies who are listed on it.

Sandeep Agarwal, the director of Deimsandjeans, says: “We had started working on digital technologies since 2017 and it was last year that we launched our DE Brands platform with web version and iOS/Android apps. We had not visualized that a situation like current crisis could be created but we feel that it has sped up the use of digital platforms. Besides we have a large number of buyers/sourcing/consultants and others listed on our app who are interacting with the denim supply-chain suppliers digitally and business is being initiated between them. There are various tools that help the buyers and suppliers to interact quickly and with least effort–increasing the speed of marketing and sourcing. Besides, we are creating an ecosystem of the denim community on the platform where verified professionals interact with each other.“

The participating supply-chain companies include Japan Blue/Collect, Artistic Milliners, Artistic Fabric Mills, Prosperity Textile, Tonello, Archroma, Wiser Wash, Pioneer Denim, Naveena Denim Limited, Raymond UCO and Kilim Denim.

 

According to the organizers, the app and the Web platform are constantly being developed. As soon as more feedback comes from users, new functions will be added continuously. Companies have already started to publish their digital collections via the app. Recently the Naveena 100% hemp collection as well as other a/w ’21 collections were launched through a webinar on DE Brands. Other companies are in the process of launching their collections on the platform and invite buyers to attend the presentation through DE Brands.
