Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds joined the many celebrities on Instagram sharing voting selfies and shots this afternoon, with Lively posting a rare photo of the two of them with their envelops for absentee voting. Did Lively troll Reynolds in the caption? Why, of course she did. It’s their thing.
Lively revealed it is her husband’s first time voting in a U.S. election, then proceeded to make joke about him losing his voting virginity. (Reynolds is Canadian.) “It was Ryan’s first time,” Lively wrote. “He was understandably scared. It all happened so fast. Like, REALLY fast. He wept. I pretended to weep. Then he called all his friend. #voteearly”
Reynolds shared the same shot on his own Instagram and went along with the joke. “This is my first time voting in America,” he wrote. “I’d like to thank my wife Blake for making my first time so gentle and loving. It was super scary at first, then exciting and now I’m a little tired. But proud. #VoteEarly” Both tagged Michelle Obama’s When We All Vote initiative, which you can learn more about here.

The last real glimpse Reynolds and Lively gave of their life together, by the way, was from Lively’s birthday celebration in August. Lively has generally kept a low profile since welcoming her third daughter Betty last fall.
Early voting has begun in many states, along with mail-in voting by absentee ballot. To find out more about where you can vote early, check out vote.org. For resources on how to vote, check out ELLE’s voting resource hub here. There’s still plenty of time to participate.
